Cover Oregon is a new central marketplace where Oregon individuals and employers will be able to shop for health insurance plans and access financial assistance to help pay for coverage. Starting in the fall of 2013, we will serve as a one-stop resource that makes it easy to find the plan for your unique needs.
At Cover Oregon, we understand what Oregonians are looking for in health coverage because we live, work, and play here too. And like you, we believe that health insurance should be affordable, flexible, and accessible to everyone.
A key part of Oregon's health reform efforts, Cover Oregon was created for Oregonians, by Oregonians to be the single best place to purchase health insurance coverage. Our goal is to help make health coverage more achievable, easier to understand and improve overall health in the state.
Individuals and families who do not have access to affordable coverage at work will be able to use Cover Oregon to make “apples-to-apples” comparisons of health insurance plans, costs and quality as well as access financial assistance.
Every small business owner knows how tough it can be to provide health insurance coverage for their staff. For small employers with 50 or fewer full-time equivalents (FTEs), Cover Oregon will offer health coverage that gives more choice to your employees and is easy to administer.
Cover Oregon will determine whether individuals qualify for financial assistance to help pay for their coverage.
Individuals and families can get financial help paying for health insurance in the form of tax credits. For example, an individual earning up to $45,900 a year or a family of four earning up to $94,200 a year may be eligible for a tax credit to help cover the cost of their monthly premiums.
Small employers with fewer than 25 full-time equivalent employees and who pay an average wage of less than $50,000 a year may qualify for a tax credit worth up to 50% of the premium costs.

Cover Oregon is looking for insurance agents to help us ensure we offer all Oregonians better access to health coverage. Over 600,000 currently uninsured Oregonians will have new opportunities to shop for coverage this fall. Becoming an affiliated Cover Oregon agent can give you access these new markets. To become an affiliated Cover Oregon agent, sign up for one of our mandatory two-part trainings beginning in the spring of 2013.
Community partners also will be crucial in helping Cover Oregon reach and serve all Oregonians. We are teaming with the Oregon Health Authority to fund community organizations to provide outreach and application assistance.
